Definição

O que é o Shake Hand?

O Shake Hand informacional é qualquer processo pelo qual dois sistemas — entendidos como configurações de informação, ou OIDUs — estabelecem uma correlação mutuamente constitutiva, da qual resulta uma alteração do estado informacional de ambos.

Bilateralidade. Nenhum Shake Hand é um acto unilateral. Mesmo quando um sistema parece passivo, há sempre uma resposta informacional, ainda que assimétrica e mínima. A pedra absorve ou reflecte; a célula activa ou silencia. A realidade não admite interacções de sentido único.

Assimetria possível. Um Shake Hand é sempre bilateral, mas pode ser profundamente assimétrico na quantidade e qualidade de informação trocada, no grau de alteração estrutural de cada parte e na direcção dominante da co-constituição resultante.

Co-constituição. A alteração informacional produzida pelo Shake Hand é real e irreversível. Não se trata de uma mera transmissão de dados: ambos os sistemas saem da interacção como entidades informacionalmente distintas do que eram antes. O Shake Hand cria, não apenas transmite.

Limiar de activação. Nem toda a proximidade física constitui um Shake Hand. É necessário que a troca informacional seja suficientemente significativa para alterar o estado da OIDU de pelo menos um dos sistemas. Há Shake Hand quando há alteração estrutural mutuamente induzida.

A realidade não é um facto fixo — é o resultado dinâmico de incontáveis Shake Hands simultâneos entre as estruturas que compõem o universo.

Tipo I · Ontológico Simétrico

Ambos constituem.
Nenhum domina.

Ocorre quando dois sistemas de complexidade informacional equivalente co-geram uma nova estrutura em que nenhum domina. O entrelaçamento quântico de dois fotões é o caso paradigmático: nenhum é causa do estado do outro — ambos são co-definidos pela interacção. A molécula de H₂ é um emergente simétrico que não existia em nenhum dos átomos isoladamente.

Ocorre quando a assimetria informacional entre os sistemas é marcada o suficiente para que um imponha, dominantemente, a estrutura da interacção. É responsável pela emergência de hierarquias, transmissão de padrões e irreversibilidade direccional. A assimetria não anula a bilateralidade — redistribui-a.

Tipo III · Epistemológico

Revela estrutura
já existente.

Ocorre quando a interacção não gera nova estrutura, mas revela estrutura já existente, tornando-a acessível à OIDU observante. Um instrumento que regista a temperatura realiza um Shake Hand epistemológico. A distinção entre ontológico e epistemológico é porosa à escala quântica.

Princípio Transversal

Identidade
A identidade de qualquer OIDU não reside na sua matéria, mas na continuidade dos seus Shake Hands. Um ser humano renova a maioria das suas moléculas ao longo de anos; o que permanece é o padrão de interacções. A identidade é um padrão de Shake Hands — não uma substância. O paradoxo do navio de Teseu dissolve-se: a identidade não reside nas tábuas, mas no padrão que as organiza.
Seta do Tempo
Cada Shake Hand é irreversível: após a interacção, nenhum sistema pode regressar ao estado anterior. A seta do tempo é o rasto acumulado dos Shake Hands assimétricos. Conceito

O Shake Hand é uma proposta em desenvolvimento. A honestidade teórica exige que se clarifique o que afirma e o que reconhece como aberto. Os seus limites não são recuos — são a definição precisa do seu território.

O conceito não resolve por si só o Hard Problem da consciência — descreve as condições informacionais da sua emergência e reconhece o resíduo irredutível da experiência subjectiva. Definition

What is the Shake Hand?

An informational Shake Hand is any process by which two systems — understood as configurations of information, or OIDUs — establish a mutually constitutive correlation, from which an alteration in the informational state of both results.

Bilaterality. No Shake Hand is a unilateral act. Even when one system appears passive, there is always an informational response, however asymmetric and minimal. The stone absorbs or reflects; the cell activates or silences. Reality does not permit one-way interactions.

Possible asymmetry. A Shake Hand is always bilateral, but can be deeply asymmetric in the quantity and quality of information exchanged, in the degree of structural alteration of each party, and in the dominant direction of the resulting co-constitution.

Co-constitution. The informational alteration produced by the Shake Hand is real and irreversible. It is not merely a data transmission: both systems emerge from the interaction as informationally distinct entities. The Shake Hand creates, not merely transmits.

Activation threshold. Not every physical proximity constitutes a Shake Hand. The informational exchange must be sufficiently significant to alter the OIDU state of at least one system. There is a Shake Hand when there is mutually induced structural alteration.

Reality is not a fixed fact — it is the dynamic result of countless simultaneous Shake Hands between the structures that compose the universe.

Typology

Three Types of
Shake Hand

The diversity of phenomena the Shake Hand encompasses requires a functional typology. Three categories, organised by ontological function and degree of symmetry.

Type I · Symmetric Ontological

Both constitute.
Neither dominates.

Occurs when two systems of equivalent informational complexity co-generate a new structure in which neither dominates. The quantum entanglement of two photons is the paradigmatic case: neither causes the other's state — both are co-defined by the interaction. The H₂ molecule is a symmetric emergent that existed in neither atom in isolation.

Type II · Asymmetric Ontological

One dominates.
The other co-defines.

Occurs when the informational asymmetry between systems is marked enough for one to dominantly impose the interaction's structure. Responsible for the emergence of hierarchies, pattern transmission, and directional irreversibility. Asymmetry does not annul bilaterality — it redistributes it.

Type III · Epistemological

Reveals already
existing structure.

Occurs when the interaction does not generate new structure, but reveals existing structure, making it accessible to the observing OIDU. An instrument registering temperature performs an epistemological Shake Hand. The distinction between ontological and epistemological is porous at the quantum scale.

Potential

The ocean of possibilities — the set of binary and quantum information from which the laws of physics operate. The TIT is the condition of possibility for all Shake Hands: the repertoire of information available to be exchanged.

The stable configurations that emerge from the ocean. The OIDU is not a static essence pre-existing relation: it is a dynamic structure built in and through relation. Every OIDU is, in part, the sedimented record of the Shake Hands that constituted it.

This architecture resolves a problem that purely computational theories of reality cannot avoid: the infinite regress of the interpreter. The answer of Informational Theories is: the systems themselves interpret through Shake Hands. Reality interprets itself, and the result of that self-interpretation is what we call the world.

The Shake Hand as
Transversal Principle

Identity
The identity of any OIDU does not reside in its matter, but in the continuity of its Shake Hands. A human being renews most of their molecules over years; what remains is the interaction pattern. Identity is a pattern of Shake Hands — not a substance. The Ship of Theseus paradox dissolves: identity does not reside in the planks, but in the pattern that organises them.
Arrow of Time
Each Shake Hand is irreversible: after the interaction, no system can return to its prior state. The arrow of time is the accumulated trace of asymmetric Shake Hands. The past is the set of consummated Shake Hands; the future is the set of possible ones. The present is the threshold — the instant potential crystallises into structure.
Consciousness
Consciousness emerges when a system reaches sufficient complexity for its internal Shake Hands to become self-referential. C = f(D, I, R). Subjective experience is the internal texture of the reflexive Shake Hand. The difference between a thermostat and a conscious being is not of kind, but of complexity and recursivity of its internal Shake Hands.
Cosmic Eschatology
The final destiny of the universe is the progressive exhaustion of possible Shake Hands. As entropy grows, OIDUs dissolve, Shake Hands cease, the TRD silences. The universe regresses to pure TIT — not nothingness, but the silence of potential. Death is not the opposite of life — it is the cessation of a pattern of Shake Hands.

Limits of the
Concept

The Shake Hand is a proposal in development. Theoretical honesty requires clarifying what it asserts and what it acknowledges as open. Its limits are not retreats — they are the precise definition of its territory.

The concept does not by itself resolve the Hard Problem of consciousness — it describes the informational conditions of its emergence and acknowledges the irreducible residue of subjective experience. The boundary between ontological and epistemological Shake Hand remains porous at the quantum scale, and this tension constitutes an open research programme, not a weakness of the model.
